Toniann Rebick

Toniann is an AFTE Certified Firearms Examiner and a Crime Scene Reconstructionist with over 20 years of experience. She received a Masters of Forensic Science and two Bachelors of Science degrees and graduated the CCI FATME Academy. Toniann supervised at the San Diego Police Lab and currently works at the Mississippi State Forensics Lab and the University of Southern Miss. She organizes the Gulf Coast FATME Study Group, is on several AFTE committees, and is a Peer Reviewer for the AFTE Journal.

This 2-hour class will discuss the physics principles behind sound and the reduction of it through the use of various types of silencers, including those that are homemade. We will discuss the history of silencers, legal issues regarding silencers, and ways to document and evaluate silencers in casework.
